Family Health Services In continuing to meet the healthcare needs of the region, UPMC Bedford Memorial has extended its community services by adding a new program called UPMC Family Health Services. For a number of years, this program was formerly known as Family Health Services of South Central Pennsylvania and has helped thousands of women and families throughout the county in seeking specific health services. UPMC Family Health Services will continue to provide similar services as in the past as well as expanding services. Many of the services include:
In addition, UPMC Family Health Services offers the Healthy Woman Program, for those 50 years and older, that helps to detect breast and cervical cancer early and is sponsored by the Pennsylvania Department of Health. According to Roger Winn, President and CEO, UPMC Bedford Memorial, "Family Health Services has been committed to improving the quality of personal and family life throughout Bedford County since 1971, and will continue this tradition of quality care along with confidential services through its affiliation with UPMC Bedford Memorial. We envision a good working relationship with this program that will further benefit the healthcare needs of those individuals who reside within the region." Cost for services under this program are based on a sliding scale and the number of dependents in the family. It is important to note that medical assistance and many other insurances are accepted and all services are confidential.
